Dare to Declare

Daily Declaration Workshop Outline

Half a decade after sharing my process for curating Daily Declarations in my life, I had the privilege of sharing this life-changing habit with fellow seekers of Intentional Living at the 6th annual Creative Conference 2025.

It was a room of earnest souls that had had enough of letting life happen to them, and instead choosing to Dare to Declare their life Direction and Distance.

Reset & Release was born out of a passion to bring order to chaos. There is something highly satisfying about finding the links and patterns in things, concepts, and information.

  • Give me a pile of M&Ms and I will sort them by colour.
  • Leave me with your kid’s toys and I will thematically sort them by type and frequency of access.
  • Dump a pile of papers on my desk and I will cull the irrelevant; invent categories where there were none; and set you up with a feasible system of maintenance ever after.
  • Unleash me on your digital folders, and I will sort them in the way you would think to use them.

More than sorting, I love releasing people from their mental burdens; because that’s where the chaos starts for anyone.

The state of our space speaks loudly about the state of our mind.

In sharing my message of Freedom to Live Intentionally at this conference, I contrasted the experience of two sisters as told in the Bible (Luke 10:38-42). See if you can see versions of yourself in the below.

I know that I myself have lived in both states of distraction and intention.

The distracted, thoughtless, worried and upset state – often over the smallest of inconsequential details – will see me fretting and spreading my anxieties onto others around me. “Tell them to come and help me!” I say, looking at the calm souls going about their peaceful lives.

The state of intention, on the other hand, where one has discovered their “one thing worth being concerned about,” sees me in peace and quiet: listening to the One who designed my unique self. And the promise is sure: once it has been “discovered… it will not be taken away.” The voices of the world, the media, colleagues, friends, and even our very own family; will not shake us from our “one thing”.

So how do we get to, and remain in, this peaceful state of intention? By crafting our Daily Declaration and using it as it was designed to be used: Daily.

When we are self-aware, we can be in any state and yet be fully content with our selves.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4:11 (KJV)

So, Dare to Declare what Your Life will look like from now on, every single day. Craft your Daily Declaration, read it at the start of each day, and live with your intentions, not the influences of others. Your choices today shape the direction and distance of your tomorrow.

“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.”
Marcus Aurelius
